The debate over large bank vs. small bank is ever present. For myself, I have always liked the small community banks. And today I had another experience to prove my point.
During the last few months my wife and I have been helping her parents clean out their home to downsize. That included going through 30 years of accumulated change. I spent several weekends rolling pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters, into the paper rolls so I could transfer them to the bank and deposit them. I called this morning to discuss the procedure and was reminded that banks no longer take rolled coins for deposit. Rather, there is usually an automatic machine that counts and sorts the coins. So I was told I would have to go into the bank and break open all of the rolls myself - over 600 rolls - and dump them into the machine for counting.
I went to your Dublin branch around the lunch hour, as I work in Doylestown. I then spent the next hour doing just that - but not by myself. Your wonderful staff in Dublin took turns assisting me the entire time. It still took a long while, but not nearly as long as it might have without their assistance.
This is why I will always remain a fan of small-town banks; and why I always tout QNB as the best bank in the region.
