QNB Pay-A-Person payments are a digital cash alternative that makes sending and receiving money fast, easy and secure. Whether it's giving a friend money for gas, paying the babysitter, or sending money to your child away at school, QNB Pay-A-Person payments allow you to quickly transfer money from your checking account to friends, family and others you trust without exchanging cash, checks or account numbers. All you need to send money is the recipient's email address or a mobile phone number.

Simply meet the following requirements to use this service:

  • Be enrolled in QNB-Online with your current email address
  • Have an active consumer QNB Check Card

 

How to enroll in QNB Pay-A-Person

  1. Sign in to QNB-Online or open the QNB-Mobile app
  2. In the main menu, select Transactions
  3. Choose QNB Pay-A-Person from the dropdown menu
  4. Select Send Money
  5. Review and agree to the terms and conditions
  6. Verify your QNB Check Card information and select Continue
  7. You will receive a message stating "You are ready to send money"

 

How to send money

  1. Sign in to QNB-Online or open the QNB-Mobile app
  2. In the main menu, select Transactions
  3. Choose QNB Pay-A-Person from the dropdown menu
  4. Select the Send tab
  5. Enter the Recipient Name
  6. Enter the Amount you want to send
  7. Enter the recipient's Email or Mobile #
  8. Select your Debit Card
  9. Select Continue
  10. Review your payment and select Continue
  11. Enter your PIN (same as QNB Check Card)
  12. You will receive a success message and an email confirmation

How money is received

The recipient will receive a text message or email notifying them that you have sent them funds to claim. The recipient should click on the link in the text message or email to claim their funds in one of two ways:

  • Enter their debit/check card information (funds are transferred almost immediately); or
  • Enter their checking account information (funds are transferred in 1-3 days)

Once the recipient has entered their information and accepted the terms of service, they should select Deposit Payment to collect their funds. Recipients will have 10 days to claim their funds.

What is QNB Pay-A-Person?

QNB Pay-A-Person enables QNB Check Card holders to send or receive money person-to-person via online or mobile banking using their smartphone, tablet, iPad or computer. Cardholders can quickly & easily transfer money directly from their QNB Check Card attached to their QNB checking account to anyone by using their check card and PIN.

What qualifies me to use the QNB Pay-A-Person service?

As long as you are: (1) enrolled in online banking, (2) have an active consumer QNB Check Card, and (3) have an email address linked to your online banking – you are eligible to use the QNB Pay-A-Person service.

How can I enroll for QNB Pay-A-Person?

Log in to your online banking profile and select “transactions” then “QNB Pay-A-Person". When prompted, enter your QNB Check Card information prompted for validation.

Can I use QNB Pay-A-Person without using QNB-Online Banking?

QNB Pay-A-Person is only available within online banking to consumer online banking users.

Will QNB share my personal information with the fund's recipient?

Your personal information will not be shared with the fund’s recipient. The recipient will have access to the following information: (1) your name and (2) the amount of funds you have sent to them.

Can my recipient decline a payment I have sent to them?

While a recipient cannot “decline” a payment, they may choose not to collect the funds you have sent them. If they do not claim the funds within 10 calendar days, the funds will be deposited back in to your QNB checking account.

Can I enroll for this service for my business account?

No. QNB Pay-A-Person is only available for consumer accounts.

What is the maximum single transaction dollar limit?

The maximum amount that can be sent in a single transaction is $1000.00. This limit may be lower depending on the approved point of sale limit on the QNB check card. For example, if your point of sale limit is $400, the max transaction dollar limit would be $400.

What is the maximum dollar limit that I can send per day on multiple transactions?

  • The max dollar limit that can be sent per day is $1000.00. This limit may be lower depending on the approved point of sale limit on the QNB check card. For example, if your point of sale limit is $400, the max transaction limit per day would be $400.
  • The maximum dollar limit that can be sent per month is $3,000.

If I have more than one QNB Check Card enrolled in P2P, can I send multiple transactions?

Transactions can be initiated from any active QNB Check Card enrolled in P2P, however, limits as indicated above are aggregated per day and per month among all of the cards enrolled.

What is the transaction number limit?

The maximum number of transactions able to be made in a 24-hour time period corresponds with the approved transaction limit on your QNB Check Card; this is typically 15 transactions.

When do my limits reset?

The QNB Pay-A-Person service works on a rolling 24-hour time frame. The time frame rolls from when your first transaction is initiated.

How secure is QNB Pay-A-Person?

QNB Pay-A-Person has the following security features:

  • Transactions are generated using the QNB Pay-a-Person service, which is only accessible within your online or mobile banking profile, therefore requiring entry of your secure credentials to login before being able to submit money to a recipient.
  • Transactions require entry of your QNB Check Card PIN before sending money.
  • The PIN pad used when entering the PIN is designed so that the numbers on the virtual PIN pad scramble as each digit is entered. This makes it more difficult for those numbers to be captured by robotic systems, malware, etc.
  • If the PIN is entered incorrectly twice, this service is locked out for 24 hours. The service will automatically reset and be available after 24 hours.

Can I be notified when a QNB Pay-A-Person transaction is sent from my QNB Check Card?

Can I cancel a transaction after it has been initiated?

Transactions cannot be cancelled once you have sent the funds and received a success message. It is imperative to review the information you are entering for accuracy before proceeding with sending funds.

Can I review my past payments?

  • Yes. Past payments can be viewed under the Transactions tab within QNB-Online Banking. Select QNB Pay-A-Person then choose History.
  • You can also review past payments by checking your monthly account statement. Transactions sent via QNB Pay-A-Person will show as “QNB Pay-A-Person" on your monthly statement.

What if my recipient does not claim their funds?

If the recipient does not claim their funds within 10 calendar days, the funds will be deposited back into your QNB checking account.

What is my PIN number?

Your PIN number will match the PIN number that you selected for your QNB Check Card.

What information do I need from my recipient to send them funds?

You will need the recipient's name and their email address or mobile phone number to send funds.

What happens if I lock myself out?

You will become locked out if your PIN is entered incorrectly two times. A time period of 24 hours must pass before you will be able to access QNB Pay-A-Person again.

What is the fee for QNB Pay-A-Person?

QNB Bank does not charge a fee to utilize this service.

How quickly will my recipient receive their funds?

The quickest and most convenient way for the recipient to collect their funds is by opting to receive the funds with their check card, as this process is typically immediate. If the recipient prefers to receive their funds via ACH, it may take longer - typically 1-3 days.

Why is my recipient unable to collect their funds using their check card?

While QNB Check Cards support the Pay-A-Person service, not all financial institutions are equipped to accept this form of payment. If your recipient is unable to claim the funds using their check card, they should either: (1) try a different check card or (2) receive the funds with their checking account.

Does my recipient have to bank with QNB to accept the funds I send them?

No. Anyone may receive QNB Pay-A-Person funds transfers, however, while QNB Check Cards support the Pay-A-Person service, not all financial institutions are equipped to accept this form of payment. If your recipient is unable to claim the funds using their check card, they should either: (1) try a different check card or (2) receive the funds with their checking account.

What if I want to dispute a P2P transaction?

While QNB is under no obligation to cancel the transfer or to reimburse funds that were transferred according to the sender's instruction, QNB will gather as many details as possible surrounding the transaction so that we may investigate. You can dispute a transaction by calling the Customer Service Center at 215-538-5600, or by visiting a QNB branch.

Can I enroll my non-QNB Check Card for QNB Pay-A-Person?

No. Only QNB Check Cards may be enrolled for QNB Pay-A-Person to send money.

Will QNB Bank ever ask me for my QNB-Online Banking password?

No. QNB Bank will never ask you to provide us with your QNB-Online Banking password.

Will QNB Bank ever ask me for my QNB Check Card PIN?

No. QNB Bank will never ask you to provide us with your QNB Check Card PIN.
